Fun Stuff

Hi everyone!

The Christmas and New Year's Holiday's have begun! Many of you parents are wondering what to do with your children during their two weeks of fun and freedom. The weather is kind of chilly and you might not want to get out to much so here are some things you can either try at home or try at your Columbus-Lowndes Public Library!

1. Christmas Tree Tour - Did you know that the Columbus-Lowndes Public Library has over 20 decorated Christmas trees up? Come by and see all of the beautiful trees and decorations, or you can watch a slideshow of all the trees on the website!

2. PBS KIDS! - Do your kids like Dinosaur Train? The Electric Company? Super Why? Check out PBS Kids for some awesome games related to the hit shows!

3. Books! (online) - Did you know that you can read a lot of public domain books for free through the Google Reader Application? A lot of wonderful Fairy Tales can be found on here and they include the full story with pictures. If you don't want to get out in the cold you can snuggle up by the computer and still read a book together.

4. Dial-A-Story - Call 662-329-5313 for a wonderful Christmas Story.

5. Teen Center - If you have a teen that is bored at home, why not come by the library and check out the new teen center. Ages 13 to 19 only! We have a Wii and a Xbox 360. Come get your game on!

6. VISIT THE LIBRARY! - We have books, books, and more books!

Hope you all have a great holiday season!
